Albuquerque police special unit was called to investigate after a body was reported off east Central early Tuesday morning.
A spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department said he was not aware of a situation in the area, but what appeared to be a body could be seen lying on the ground just east of the McDonald’s drive thru at Central and Wyoming.
Personnel from the Office of the Medical Investigator could be seen walking around the body taking pictures.
At this time, it is not clear how the person died or if the death was being investigated as a homicide.
A McDonald’s employee said she saw an ambulance come to the scene with its lights on and leave with the lights off just a few minutes later.
Wisconsin St was closed between Central and Chico while officers were on the scene.
